Welcome to the Mongol Rally: the greatest motoring adventure on the planet.
The Mongol Rally thunders 10,000+ miles across the mountains, desert and steppe of Europe and Asia each summer. There’s no backup, no support and no set route; just you, your fellow adventurists and a tiny car you bought from a scrapyard for £11.50.
The rules of the Rally are gloriously simple…
1. You can only take a farcically small vehicle
2. You’re completely on your own
3. You've got to raise at least £1000 for charity

Imagine the perfect car for a long distance rally...
Tailor made. Four wheel drive. Powerful engine.
Now imagine the perfect car for a pensioner to go shopping in...
For some reason we were looking for the latter.
The only rules were that it had to be 1.0 litre (up to 1.2 is allowed but why make it easy), and should be as cheap as possible. Vauxhall Agilas, Hyundai Amicas, Daihatsu Moves. Bonus points for every person you meet who has never heard of it.
After weeks of searching, multiple test drives, and some truly awful rust buckets dismissed, we have finally found the car of our dreams! What can only be described as the most aerodynamic, agile, and advanced car money can buy you. I am proud to present...

The Theme

Since the whole point of this trip is to raise money for charity, what better way to do it than dressing up as something daft.
The more observant of you may have already guessed from our team name what our fancy dress theme is. We will be dressing up as The Thunderbirds.
Our beautiful car will be transformed into Thunderbird 2, and we will be kitted up in full fancy dress.
Now most people might think this is enough. But apparently we don't.
So to make our trip all that much easier we shall be also be taking a large, heavy, and completely useless mobility scooter with us; transformed into Thunderbird 4 of course.

Helpful right? Not exactly. But then it dawns on you that you have two months, and two continents to explore so why would you want a laid out route anyway. All you have left to do is decide how many things it is physically possible to do and see between England and Outer Mongolia.
Overnight stops in the Alps?

Cave hotels in Turkey?
The Door To Hell in Turkmenistan?
The Finish Line?
Who knows how many of these we will actually get to, and most likely we will end up somewhere completely different, but check out our map to see roughly where we are heading for.
